
In addition to McTimoney Chiropractic, I have a strong interest in the mind body link. Emotions and stress not only have an affect on the way that we feel but can also affect recovery from aches and pains, and can even be the cause of recurrent problems!
If you think about something that you hate or makes you angry notice how your body responds. Do you notice your shoulders tense up, your jaw clenches or do you feel sick? Now carry out the same exercise but this time think about something (or someone!) that you enjoy doing or really love. How does your body feel now – do you feel more relaxed, does it make you smile? Physical changes can and do occur as a direct consequence of thoughts and emotions.
